             Autumn Term 2018 Maple Class

We would like to welcome everyone returning to Pre-school, along with our new starters. We also welcome Mrs Kirby joining us as Pre-school Supervisor and Mrs Robinson and Miss Knight as Pre-school assistants. Mrs Farmer will continue to help out when needed and is now also the Wraparound manager.

We are looking forward to continuing building on the children’s learning and using their interests to help them progress even further.

Support at home and general routines

Forest School

This will take place EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY starting from Wednesday 19th September.

We will endeavour to keep you up to date and ask you where possible to leave a pair of wellies in Pre-school on your child’s peg.  This is also useful for some of our other activities.

On a Wellie Wednesday please send your child to Pre-school dressed for the woods, i.e. in warm long sleeved tops (layers are best as we get hot in our waterproofs). Long trousers, leggings or tracksuit bottoms are perfect. We have a selection of water proof jackets and trousers but if you are able to provide your own that would be helpful as there are so many of us now taking part.

We will continue to provide snack both during the morning and afternoon sessions at a cost of fifty pence per day. This has proven to be a success and enables us to share a variety of food with your children such as fruit and vegetables, crackers malt loaf and toast. Milk is provided free of charge. Please continue to provide water bottles and encourage you child to bring water only.

Please leave a PE kit on your child’s peg. We will have a PE session where we get changed into shorts and T-shirt once a week, usually on a Thursday morning. Over the year all children will have an opportunity to use the climbing equipment in the school hall, take part in music and movement sessions and use the parachute and other sports equipment.

This first half term we will be establishing simple routines getting to know your children and settling them into life in Pre-school. We believe in creating an enabling environment, joining children, and supporting them in their pursuits as they learn and explore.

We will continue to update you with information via the Pre-school notice board and Fladbury Fanfare.

Thank you for your support

Mrs Bullas
