Oak

Welcome to Oak Class!

Miss Bailey is our class teacher and Miss Hill is our teaching assistant. We currently have 17 Year 4 children.

Our new topic over the Spring Term is - Magnificent Mountains!

We will be learning all about some famous mountains and mountain ranges such as the Andes and the Alps. We will be making our very own 3D mountain range models!

  • In English we will be writing water droplet diary entries and playful mountain poetry.
  • In Maths we will be learning more about Multiplication and Division, Measurement and Area and moving onto Fractions and Decimals!
  • We will be learning about three worldviews, Christianity, Humanism and Judaism in RE and thinking about the question, 'What can we learn from religions about decising what is right and wrong?'
  • In Art we will be looking at the famous artist Monet and Impressionist style, especially how he used water in his artwork.
  • Learning about the 'Water Cycle' through experiments and investigations in Science.
  • Composing a Water Cycle dance in PE as well as net and racket games.

As our class contains the older children we have lots of extra responsibilities. Some of our Year 4 children are House Captains. The children of Oak class also have representatives on the School Council and Eco-School Council.

PE is on Monday and Friday afternoons.

Quick reminders:

  • Spelling tests and new spellings take place on a Friday
  • PE kit to be labelled and in school on a Monday and Friday
  • Water bottles labelled and to be brought in everyday
